History
St. John’s Thrift Shoppe opened on April 12, 1982. The Shoppe has relocated two times due to the overwhelming donations and the need to have a larger space that includes home furnishings. As of 2019, over Three million dollars have been granted to local charities through The Outreach Ministry of St. John’s Episcopal Church.
Mission
To provide funds for the Outreach Ministry of St. John’s Episcopal Church program, which benefits the Charities in Collier County. The Shoppe offers a Ministry to many charities who receive the benefits of financial Grants. The love of Christ guides lasting friendships between charities, volunteers, donors, and customers.
Vision
To continue our ever-growing Christ-centered offering quality items that are given to the Shoppe to produce tax-free shopping to our customers that provide 100% net proceeds to local charities.
Leadership
The Shoppe has a Board of Director’s comprised of seven members. Their dedication and time are to ensure that the shop runs smoothly and provide constant support. The Shoppe has a manager and two assistant managers that oversee the running the Shoppe daily.
Volunteers
Women and Men come from St. John’s Episcopal Church members as well as non-church members in the area. Volunteers staff the Shoppe six days a week, serving half, or full shifts. The Shoppe rewards the volunteers by giving a discount on items purchased as well as a thank-you party once a year. Volunteers of all faiths staff the Shoppe.
