Charities
St. John’s Thrift Shoppe opened in 1982. In 2019 we reached over three million dollars from 100% net profit sales from the Shoppe. Each year we celebrate the giving of grants to the selected charities at a very special service held at St. John’s Episcopal Church on a Sunday during November or December. St. John’s Episcopal Church does not receive any money from the net profit of sales. All net profits are given to selected charities in Collier county annually. The Parish Outreach Commission has the responsibility for researching and interviewing charities that apply for grants. The grants are based on very detailed criteria to determine which ones receive financial support. The Commission reports to the Parish’s Vestry the recommend dollar amounts of grants to each charity based on its need and qualifications. Some of the charities are represented by the logos on this page. In 2020 ten charities were given grants.
You are invited to attend the annual service to join in the sharing and the love as you listen and learn about each charity. We are truly blessed.
